ISDN-PRS

Course Description
This self-directed, web-based product training course provides you with knowledge of the Qwest Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Primary Rate Service (PRS) product. You will learn how ISDN PRS, also referred to as ISDN Primary Rate Interface (PRI), works and the options available.

Primary Rate Service is a digital service offering which provides a four-wire, full duplex transmission path (DS1) between ISDN compatible Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and an ISDN-equipped Qwest central office (CO). It provides a T-1 service that is multiplexed in the central office down to 24 channels.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this training course, you should be able to:

  • Explain what ISDN-PRS is and how it works
  • Describe the components and features of ISDN-PRS
  • Determine configurations and options
  • Determine compatibility of Customer Premise Equipment
  • Describe the benefits of ISDN-PRS

Prerequisites

  • Local Qwest 101 "Doing Business with Qwest"
  • Basic Telephony course and/or equivalent industry experience
  • Knowledge of Digital technologies
  • DS1
  • Digital Data Service
  • Centrex

Audience
The target audience for the training is primarily CLECs and External Customers, but the training is available to anyone that would like an overview of the subject. We believe this training will assist you in gaining a better understanding of the product and processes, and will allow you to be more effective in working with the Qwest Sales and Service Team.

Course Length
This course takes approximately 3 hours to complete.
