Qwest Broadband provides flexibility to connect telecommuters, campus users and business partners to your business at various speeds-and Qwest Broadband Host service offers the aggregation point for all DSL user traffic pointed to your business.
These two categories correspond to the spoke and hub network of the DSL service:
Each of the "spoke" connections must be associated with a "hub" or a Qwest Broadband Host. Qwest Broadband Host service allows you to aggregate data streams from many Qwest Broadband Subscribers onto a single high-speed data connection via Qwest asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) cell relay backbone. Qwest Broadband Host and subscribers are connected via virtual channel connections (VCC).
To become a Qwest Broadband Host and enable Qwest Broadband end-user subscribers to select/use your Internet service provider (ISP) services, you will need the following services in each local access transport area (LATA) you wish to serve as a Qwest Broadband Host:
Qwest Broadband Host service is offered under the terms and conditions of a commercial agreement. For additional information, contact your Account Team, Sales Executive, or Service Manager for more information.
Your serving Qwest wire center must be ATM disclosed. You may verify services at:
When a Qwest Broadband Host customer is located in a wire center other than an ATM switch wire center, or a broadband host service point, then a Private Line DS-1 or DS-3 would be ordered using the standard DS-1/DS-3 ordering process. The Private Line is ordered as a dangling service to the nearest central office that has either the ATM switch or service point. Private Line transport mileage/channel charges will be billed for the Private Line.
Actual DSL speeds vary depending on service location, phone line qualifications, computer performance/configuration, network/Internet congestion and other factors. Uninterrupted or error-free service is not guaranteed.
The minimum service period for Qwest Broadband Host service is 12 months from the date of service. If by the end of the term of the agreement a new agreement is not entered into, the service will continue under the initial agreement on a month-to-month basis at month-to-month rates.
Month-to-month broadband host service has a minimum service period of one month, only after the initial one-year fixed-period plan has expired.
A signed Qwest Broadband Host commercial agreement is required before broadband host service is provisioned. When ordering Qwest Broadband Host services via an Access Service Request (ASR), the ASR number may be used in lieu of the commercial agreement. If a Private Line or ATM OAL (Optical Access Link) are used for transport they must be ordered on a separate ASR.
The rate elements applicable to Qwest Broadband Host service are listed below. All elements consist of both nonrecurring and monthly charges.

With Qwest Broadband Host service, you can expect:
A Qwest Broadband Host access link is a Qwest provided physical connection between a disclosed ATM central office or a broadband host service point, and the Qwest Broadband Host customer premises.
The Qwest Broadband Host access link transmits data from the customer's host or central location to the Company ATM network.

Broadband host Port
A Broadband host port is a port on the ATM switching system at the serving wire center or the broadband host service point.
The types of ports applicable to broadband host service are:
A 45 Mbps broadband host or ATM port is capable of terminating broadband host bandwidth in 3 Mbps increments from 3 Mbps through 45 Mbps. You may choose to use an ATM port if you do not require the 45Mbps broadband host port.
COCC
A COCC arrangement provides the ongoing interconnection from a company facility to a Qwest Broadband ATM port when the customer accesses the broadband host service via a private line transport facility.

Qwest Broadband Host service requests may be issued by submitting an Access Service Request (ASR) or an In-Region (IR) ATM/DSL Service Request Form. Your Qwest Account Manager/Service Manager will complete the IR ATM/DSL Service Request form with your assistance; contact your Account Team, Sales Executive, or Service Manager.
Broadband host service requests may be submitted by using the following Access Service Ordering Guidelines (ASOG) forms:

E-Care is a Web-based tool which allows you to enter and monitor trouble tickets on Qwest's In-Region ATM network. ATM users will need a contact name and phone number of your Account Team / Sales Executives and Service Managers. Your account will not be active until an E-Care Administrator verifies your request for ATM ticketing.
