Qwest Metro Private Line (QMPL) provides competitively priced metro private lines at speeds ranging from DS-1 to OC-192. Customers can connect two or more locations within the same metropolitan area with QMPL high quality, reliable and scalable service. Qwest also connects metropolitan networks to our international backbone to meet long distance and Internet needs. Qwest enables customers to extend their network reach within 42 metros across the U.S.

Expandability: QMPL is designed to be flexible to meet changing requirements. The AdaptiveBuild^® process combines Qwest's proprietary market knowledge with design and construction expertise to produce network solutions that are purpose-built for specific application and service needs. Qwest owns network infrastructure in major metropolitan areas throughout the US and can customize solutions for specific customer requirements.

Reliability: The Qwest all fiber synchronous optical network (SONET) provides up to a 99.999% service level agreement (SLA).

Security: Fiber optic circuits are tamper resistant, providing an extra level of security.

Multiplexing: Multiple services can be multiplexed into OC-N services to take advantage of economies of scale. For example, it is less expensive to install and maintain one high-speed line than it is to run multiple lower speed lines. QMPL can multiplex lower speed lines at the end points and potentially save you money.

SHNS- Qwest Self Healing Network Services is a failure-resistant, private telecommunications network that provides high-capacity digital services between multiple customer-designated premises. Designed to minimize network downtime, SHNS provides business continuation, disaster recovery and survivability and is ideally suited to a wide range of multi-location data, video, voice and Ethernet applications.
SST- Qwest Synchronous Service Transport (SST) is a two-point, broadband, shared Private Line solution that provides a reliable high-capacity connection for the transfer of large volumes of traffic.

Our SONET-based system is a high-capacity, 100% fiber optic network deployed in a ring configuration. The system employs a "working" path carrying data in one direction, and a "protect" path transporting information in the opposite direction around the ring. The ring topology continually monitors service quality, detects any failure or degradation, and automatically self-heals to ensure uninterrupted transmission flow. Rerouting is accomplished within 50 milliseconds.
