Qwest Communications Company ("QCC") Telco Collocation service offers you, as a Qwest Internet Protocol (IP) or transport customer, the option to lease space in a Qwest point of presence (POP) or certain remote collocation sites or collocation hotels. Telco Collocation is not offered in Qwest Company facilities or regulated central offices. Qwest provides provisioned telecom space and DC power adapted specifically for telecom equipment. Qwest provides Telco Collocation as a bundled service available only as an enhancement to our IP and transport offerings.
With Qwest® Telco Collocation, you have access to the Qwest transport backbone and services, eliminating local connection charges between you and your backbone provider, resulting in substantial cost savings for most customers. When coupled with necessary Qwest transport, collocation provides secure, high speed access at a DS-3, OC-3 or higher rate without incurring the cost of leased lines to get to the POP. In addition for facility based providers, the ability to lease vs. build conditioned telecom space that is pre-provisioned results in cost savings and speed to market.
Qwest provides space and power specifically conditioned for telecom equipment and that is strategically located to physical or virtual connections to the Qwest backbone.
NOTE: Custom options may increase targeted due date beyond the standard installation interval
