Long Distance Alert - V6.0
History

Product
Description
Long Distance Alert provides a distinctive ring and a distinctive
call waiting tone for long distance calls. The service works
in conjunction with Call Waiting. (The end-user must have Call
Waiting to have Long Distance Alert.)
The distinctive alert signal is SHORT LONG SHORT.
Long Distance Alert will have no distinctive ring if:
- A cordless phone is used and is not sitting on the base
station. (Some cordless phones will not provide the distinct
ring even on the base station.)
- Call is routed over a non-SS7 network.
- In a 5ESS® switch type and there is a combination of
Long Distance Alert and Call Waiting ID or Call Waiting Deluxe:
Caller ID continues to work and Call Waiting works. When the
end-user is on the telephone they will hear the call waiting
tone but won't be able to identify that caller on the Call
Waiting ID or Home/Business Receptionist phone. Remove Long
Distance Alert to fix the problem.
* NOTE: Effective May 12, 2008, Call Waiting Deluxe is grandparented and is not available to order as a new feature.
Calls that would display as UNAVAILABLE if the end-user had
Caller ID, will be set to ring normally. Long Distance Alert
won't apply except in some 5ESS switch types where those calls
will ring like long distance calls.
