Call Waiting ID provides caller detail information of an incoming Call Waiting call using a Call Waiting ID Display Unit.
For Call Waiting ID to display incoming Call Waiting calls, the end-user must have:
Call Waiting ID does not require activation or deactivation codes.
The phone connected to the Call Waiting ID unit must be "off hook" to display the incoming Call Waiting call.
The end-user subscribing to Call Waiting ID will hear a high pitched tone when an incoming call is received.
If the end-user does not answer Call Waiting, the Call Waiting ID unit will still display the Call Waiting call information.
Call Waiting ID is available in 5ESS®, and DMS™-100 central office (CO) switch types where Caller ID is available and in some DMS-10 CO switch type.
Call Waiting ID is not available in an Ericsson (AXE) CO switch type.
