Technical Overview
The Qwest Domestic Frame Relay (FR) network is transported over an
OC-192 (10 Gbps) synchronous optical network (SONET) infrastructure,
providing FR with high-speed, high-capacity capabilities. Frame Relay
Service (FRS) port speeds are available from DS-0 (56 kbps) up to DS-3
(45 Mbps). Qwest FRS also offers seamless interworking between Frame
Relay and ATM, and supports permanent virtual circuits (PVCs) that
connect your FRS to the Internet (Dedicated Internet Access product).
For customers that wish to outsource the management of their network,
Qwest also offers Network Management Services solutions that include
installation, maintenance and configuration of the FR customer premises
equipment (CPE).
