Customer-specific IDS sensors listen passively to all traffic and alert you of any suspicious activity. The IDS sensor categorizes intrusion events as low, medium or high severity.
If high-priority events are detected, Qwest notifies customers via e-mail that events have occurred and directs them to a secure Web site to view event details. From this site, customers may also view further information and suggested workaround, patch and configuration changes. Activity and trending reports for all events on the current day, as well as the previous seven-, 30- and 60-day periods are provided on the secure Web site.
Customers seeking 24/7 interaction with security engineers to discuss intrusion events may choose Qwest Enhanced IDS. Qwest Enhanced IDS provides all the features in Qwest IDS as well as telephone notification, round-the-clock security engineer hotline and two network vulnerability scans.
