Uniform Access Solution (UAS)
Uniform Access Solution (UAS) meets the growing demands of the Call Center market by routing calls to the first available answering station. UAS provides single number access for Call Centers that do not require multiple DID (Direct Inward Dial) numbers and related services found on basic or advanced DSS (Digital Switched Service).
The foundation of UAS is DS1* service, a high-capacity, high-performance digital transport service that transmits voice and data traffic at 1.544 Mbps with virtually no noise or distortion. With UAS, the DS1 is multiplexed into as many as 24 separate channels. These channels can support voice and data or up to 56 Kbps data traffic.
Benefits
Single number access to Call Centers and reliable network connectivity for financial services
At least 30-35 percent more savings than DSS*, ISDN, PRIO, or multiple 1FBs
UAS network connection provides switching to local and toll networks
Reliable service with continuous 24 hour, 7 day a week availability
Upgradeability to UAS from Advanced DSS requires record order work only
Single number access to remote users for remote LAN connectivity with UAS services
24 Channels that can provide access for voice and data with UAS. Multiple UAS links can utilize one telephone number and allow up to 1,951 channels to share that same number.
Features
Pure digital solution so no analog-to-digital conversions needed
DS1 interfaces with each of the individual channels and the central office switch. The network connection provides switching to local and toll networks.
Loop Diversity and Avoidance is available. Loop Diversity requires an additional UAS for the secondary route.
Security of UAS is inherent by using highly reliable copper or fiber optic telephone infrastructure.
Qwest [DS-1] Service is available in equipped Central Offices on an intraLATA basis in the states of AZ, CO, IA, ID, MN, MT, ND, NE, NM, OR, SD, UT, WA and WY. Minimum term of commitment required. Installation and termination charges apply. UAS includes a T-1 facility with common equipment and a network connection, which provides for local exchange and toll network access. Each T-1 facility utilizes 24 voice and data channels configured as in-only or two-way trunk side termination. This service provides digital exchange service, digital transmission facility (T-1) at the speed of 1.544 Mbps between the customers premises and the Qwest central office and multiplexing of the UAS facility in the companys central office to accommodate 24 voice/data channels into the central office switch. The customer will be given one dialing number (POTS) per trunk group.
