Karin Peterson Karin N. Peterson

Karin N. Peterson joined Qwest Government Services Division (GSD) in July 1999 as a program manager. Two years later, she was named sales manager for all in-region Department of Defense (DoD) business in the 14-state local service region.   Her role is to ensure the telecommunications requirements of her DoD customers are met in a timely, professional and customer-friendly manner.

Prior to joining Qwest, Peterson was a training director at US WEST.  In this role she was responsible for the development and delivery of customer care training curriculum for 8000+ network technicians.  From 1987 to 1998, Peterson served as an officer in the United States Air Force with assignments as a human factors and test engineer at Eglin AFB in Florida, an Assistant Professor of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs, CO and Chief of the Policy Assessments Branch at the National Reconnaissance Office.  While on active duty, Peterson received the Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters and was a Distinguished Graduate at Squadron Officer School.

Peterson holds a master of science degree in engineering psychology from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA, and a bachelor of science degree from the USAFA.

Peterson is a member of the Armed Forces Communications Electronics Association (AFCEA), the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), and the Association of Graduates of the U.S. Air Force Academy.
