Alaska Airlines
Challenge
Seattle-based Alaska Airlines is the nation's ninth largest carrier. It asked Qwest® to
streamline and cost-effectively manage a variety of the airline's communications systems
near the Seattle and Portland airports.
Solution
Qwest interconnected six of the airline's buildings close to Seattle's Seatac Airport
via an OC-12 network and provided an OC-3 network to transport data from the airline's
Kent, WA facility to its data center near Seatac Airport. We provide back-up Web hosting
services for alaskaair.com through a Qwest® CyberCenter™ in the Seattle area.
And we provide VoIP services for passengers using Alaska Airline's Portland and Seattle "Boardroom" airport
clubs.
By helping the airline leverage state-of-the-art technology, we helped enhance
its customer service while managing its costs and growing the airline. Not coincidentally,
it was recently ranked No. 1 in the annual Airline Quality Ratings.
Client
Alaska Airlines, along with its regional partner, Horizon Air, provide 18 million passengers
with world-class service and convenient schedules. Based in Seattle, it is the nation’s
ninth largest carrier. |
