Vanity E-mail Addresses

You can create e-mail addresses that match your vanity domain name, called vanity e-mail addresses (e.g., JaneDoe@YourDomainName.com). Learn how to create and modify your vanity e-mail addresses.

Create a Web Site

You can create your own Web site using Qwest Web site design templates, and store it on the Qwest.net server. Anyone who knows your Web site address can visit it at any time. You don’t need to be logged in to your Qwest.net account, or on your computer, for friends or customers to view your Web site.

Vanity Domain Name

You can choose a vanity domain name to register as part of your Web site address (e.g., www. YourDomainName.com). Using a vanity domain name makes it easy for your friends or customers to remember your Web site, without the hassle of maintaining your own Web server.

Static IP Addresses

Static IP addresses are numeric addresses that uniquely identify your computer(s) on the Internet.

You can store your Web site on the Qwest.net servers, and map your private domain name to your Web site. This is the preferred method for most Qwest.net subscribers. Static IP addresses are not required for this option.

If you choose to host your Web site locally from your home or business, or access your computers remotely over the Internet, you will need static IP addresses.

Each time you connect to the Internet you are using dialer software, included in the Qwest.net™ connection software, to reach the Qwest.net server.

  • If you move your computer outside the local calling area you registered in (but are still within the Qwest service region), you need to set the computer to dial into a different phone number, using the roaming instructions.
  • Each time you dial into Qwest.net, you need to provide the user name and password of your primary account. Your dialer can store this information, so you don't have to enter it each time you dial in.
