Why Wireless?

Wireless networking provides the ability to set up a network in multiple rooms of your home or business — without the high cost of wiring. Wireless networking also provides the flexibility to roam in your wireless coverage area with a laptop PC.

The Actiontec GT701-wg supports both 802.11b and 802.11g wireless networking without the need for additional equipment inserted into the modem.

Wireless Security

If LAN security is a major concern, wireless may not be the best solution for you. Standard wireless security measures are available with the Actiontec wireless product offering; however, wired LANs are inherently more secure than wireless.

What do I need to go wireless?

Actiontec GT701-wg
With the new Actiontec GT701-wg modem, you don’t need any additional equipment for your modem to construct a wireless network. The only additional equipment required is a wireless card for each PC you connect to your wireless network.

Actiontec 1520 or 1524 Gateways

What do I need to go wireless?
Moving to wireless is easy. Simply follow the steps below to find out what accessories you'll need.

1. An Actiontec 802.11b PC Card wireless adapter for the Actiontec wireless-ready 1520/1524 DSL Gateway.

Insert the card in the slot on the side of the Actiontec DSL Gateway as shown below.

Note: Only Actiontec 802.11b PC Card Wireless Expansion Adapters will work in the Actiontec DSL Gateway. Other manufacturer's wireless adapters won't work

2. A wireless adapter for each PC you plan to connect via wireless with the Actiontec 1520/1524 or GT701-wg.
