Actiontec Advisory
Qwest has identified a potential vulnerability with the Actiontec 1520 modem firmware (operating system for the modem) version 1.60.0.49. The vulnerability has the potential to affect customers with a static IP set-up with unnumbered mode enabled. Customers who use the Actiontec 1520 modem, but have not purchased static IP services, or customers who have any other firmware version, are not affected. This vulnerability could potentially allow unauthorized access to customer information.

Customers whose equipment may contain this vulnerability received delivery of their Actiontec modem between August and mid-December, 2002.

Get help here if you are unsure of what firmware version your modem is using.
Download the free updated firmware version, which fixes this potential issue.
