Identifying Your Intel®
PRO/DSL Internal Modem!
Qwest DSL has provided two different version
of the Intel PCI modem, the 2100 and 2200. Two different
techniques are used with Qwest DSL to transport the DSL
traffic back to the Qwest Central Office. The Intel 2100
works with one technique and the Intel 2200 works with
the other. The Intel 2100 modem works with the technique
known as CAP. The Intel 2200 modem works with the technique
known as DMT. The Intel 2100 modem will not work with
the DMT transport method as the Intel 2200 will not work
with the CAP transport method. The Intel 2100 and 2200
modems are not interchangeable.
When upgrading your modem it is crucial
that you identify which Intel PCI modem you own before
downloading any software for the modem. If the
wrong software drivers are downloaded, the modem will
not function.
Please use the following guidelines if you
are unsure which Intel modem you are using.
