We are very proud that our network handled the rigorous communication needs for the Democratic National Convention. And since we handled communications on such a large scale, imagine how we handle everything you've got and more.

What did it take to pull off a digital-based convention?
A network that has an aggregate data capacity of approximately 50 billion bits per second. How much is 50 billion bits per second?

This means:

  • An entire HD movie could be transmitted in about two seconds
  • Over the course of the conventions, four-day periods respectively, more than half a billion (514 million) MP3s could be transmitted
  • The entire collection of the Library of Congress' print holdings could be transmitted in less than one hour (58.7 minutes).
