NG9-1-1 Update to add 2 PSAPs

Implementation Date:

April 1, 2013

Original Date Posted:

July 21, 2010

Summary:

Issue 3 adds 2 PSAPs, Bountiful PD and Salt Lake City PD (SLC PD), to the NG9-1-1 network in Utah.

Issue 2 adds Weber Area Consolidated Dispatch Center/Ogden Fire Department (Weber) Ogden, UT, requests routing of all 9-1-1 calls for VECC and Weber to the NG9-1-1 network.

Qwest Communications in partnership with Intrado announces the deployment of Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) services for Valley Emergency Communications Center (VECC), Salt Lake City, UT, Weber, Bountiful and SLC PD.  This new service, with its associated network, will provide IP connectivity to VECC, Weber, Bountiful and SLC PD PSAPs for the delivery of all 9-1-1 calls. NG9-1-1 will be replacing the Qwest Communications legacy E9-1-1 Selective Router (SR).  To ensure delivery of its 9-1-1 calls service providers will be required to reroute their 9-1-1 emergency calls destined for VECC, Weber, Bountiful and SLC PD to both of the Legacy Network Gateways (LNG) sites listed below.   The LNGs were originally disclosed as Regional Collocation Facility (RCL).  The LNG designation better describes the function of the devices and follows industry standards.  Future requests for access to VECC, Weber, Bountiful and SLC PD will also need to adhere to this new architecture as detailed in this disclosure.  Carriers should provision new facilities to each of the Qwest Communications Next Generation Aggregation Points (NGAP) listed below and diversify their trunks over both NGAPs.  Carriers are asked to convert all trunks to SS7 signaling.  Primary and alternate routing is designated below.  Qwest Communications will aggregate the trunks onto facilities between the NGAPs and LNGs.
The process of ordering facilities and trunks will not change, carriers must follow existing ordering and provisioning processes.  Please use project ID “NG911-UT-C” when ordering facilities to the NGAPs to insure proper order handling and specialized design for NG9-1-1 and project code “NG911-UT-M” when ordering trunks.
Please contact Intrado at: ienvprovisiong@intrado.com if you have questions concerning the LNGs.
