Summary:

Copper Retirements are necessary to respond to various factors in the Outside Plant, including road construction, maintenance problems, and growth accommodation. Replacement cables may be either copper or fiber. Specific information will be provided with each disclosure.

This is buried air core cable that has been damaged by rodents and water rot. The db loss calculation for this section of cable is: Before: 820'of BHBH-50 @1004Hz = .260 After: 820' of ANAW-50 @1004Hz .340
IA Waterloo WTRLIADT 12-11-2009 590102 92C1J6K 3490 W 4 ST This job will split an existing DA served by X 3490 W 4 St. and all ckts on the F2 3490W4,1-190 will cut to a new fiber DLC at 2316 W. Ridgeway Ave. All ckts cutting to the DLC will be supported. Cable retired on this job will not be replaced.
MN Rochester ROCHMNRO 11-16-2009 240702 92M22HK 6615 10 ST SE Qwest will turn up additional pair gain capacity at an existing remote terminal and Sai at 6615 10 St SE and remove the existing C.O. copper pairs from the Sai as part of the project to eliminate the copper F-1 pairs to this area which is being impacted by the 4th Street bridge replacement. At the completion of this job, no copper F-1 pairs will be available to the Sai and all existing circuits will continue to work. The before loss to X 6615 10 St SE is 74.19 dB at 28Khz which includes 160 feet of ANAW, 34,286 feet of ANMW and 5,813 feet of ANTW cables (40.26 Kft). The after loss to X 6615 10 St SE is .07 dB at 28Khz which includes 40 feet of ANMW cables (.04 Kft).
UT Logan Main LOGNUTMA 12-14-2009 410102 9261YSK 249 S 100 E The City of Logan project 100 E from 300 S to 500 S is being reconstructed and widened. Qwest facilities are presently in the path of this project. Relocation of these is required for work to be completed. The dB loss calculations for the individual copper cable sections is: Before: total loop resistance = 240 ohms loss @ 318000 = 13.23 db 196000 hz normalized = 11.06 db After: total loop resistance = 242 ohms loss @ 318000 = 13.25 db 196000 hz normalized = 11.08 db
