Summary:

Copper Retirements are necessary to respond to various factors in the Outside Plant, including road construction, maintenance problems, and growth accommodation. Replacement cables may be either copper or fiber. Specific information will be provided with each disclosure.

The F1 and F2 sections are completely different because the section the areas are currently served by is going to be removed. 2361' 26 ga and 431' 24 ga changing to 348' 26 ga and 4380' 24 ga results in a 2.02 dB loss increase. 826' 26 ga, 1534' 24 ga, and 191' 22 ga changing to 510' 26 ga and 4331' 24 ga results in a 3.74dB loss increase.

The work begins at 13kf from the Northfield central office. The db loss calculations for the individual copper cable section is as follows: Before:786'of GFAW-50@28KHz=.830 After:865'of ANMW-50@28KHz=1.390 A change of +.56. Before:786' of AJAW-50@28KHz=.830db After:850' of ANMW-50@28KHz=1.370db a change of +.54. A short interval is being requested because this is a county road job & the work will be done as soon as possible.

All existing services will continue to work at the completion of the job. At the completion of this job, no copper F-1 pairs will be available to this Sai. The before loss is 59.45 dB at 28Khz which includes 18,897 feet of ANAW, 15,356 feet of ANMW and 3,944 feet of ANTW cables (38.20 Kft). The after loss is .22 dB at 28Khz which includes 130 feet of ANMW cables (.13 Kft).

SD Sioux Falls Main SXFLSDCO 09-01-2009 460302 92T15SL 11600 W 12 St This job will relocate cable in the Sioux Falls Main wire center that is in conflict with the State of South Dakota's road improvement plans along SD Hwy 17. This job will place 6.131 KF of 22 gauge cable and will retire 3.038 KF of 19 gauge cable and 3.044 KF of 22 gauge cable. This work will result in an increase of 52 ohms of resistance and .28 db of loss @ 1004 Hz.
SD Tea TEA-SDCO 09-01-2009 410920 92T15SW N1W5W1 This job will replace 1450 feet of BHBH 11 pair with 1554 feet of ANAW 25 to avoid conflicts with a pending road project along SD Hwy 17 in the Tea Exchange. The replacements will result in an increase of 27.6 Ohms of resistance and .16 db of loss @ 1004 Hz.
WA Colville CLVLWA01 09-15-2009 244701 92W2AEY 1880 Aladdin Rd Before loop of 3297' of 22ga and 1926' of 19 ga is 1.110db loss and 140.057 ohms loss, the after loop is 5645' of 22ga is 1.37db loss and 185.72 ohms. This has a negative impact of +.26db loss and a +45.663 ohms.
WA Emerson STTLWA04 08-30-2009 320401 92W2C53 NO FDI Qwest is responding to a city road project where 0.93 kf of 22 gauge will be replaced with 0.96 kf of 24 guage in a forced re-allignment.
