Summary:

Copper Retirements are necessary to respond to various factors in the Outside Plant, including road construction, maintenance problems, and growth accommodation. Replacement cables may be either copper or fiber. Specific information will be provided with each disclosure.

Main St Qwest is required to abandon a 296 foot section ((0.296Kft) of AFMW-300 buried cable; a 125 foot section (0.125Kft) of AFMW-50 buried cable; a 40 foot section (0.04Kft) of ANMW-50 buried cable; and remove a 550 foot section (0.55Kft) of ANMW-50 aerial cable and associated serving terminals F2239 E. Apache Blvd; R2239 E. Apache Blvd; and R1435 S. Price Rd. All circuits currently working in the cable and terminals will be disconnected by the customer prior to the removal/abandonment. The facilities are being removed to accommodate the construction of a new Park and Ride facility for the new Metro Light Rail System and will not be replaced.

This cable is buried at 8" below grade and was placed in 1978. The 160 working cable pairs (POTS) will be transferred to a parallel ANMW 400 pair cable to resolve the conflict. An increase of 0.780db loss will not affect any working ccts. 2398' of ANAW 400 pair will be abandoned in place.
CO Snowmass SNMSCOMA 04-01-2008 111391 H72A442 34500 Hwy 82 This job will pull 215', place 170' (open trench) and strap 30' (up pole) of ANMW-25 from pole 0.2 to pole 1 and remove 400' of BHAS-16 (aerial cable) along with a 25'-7 pole. The dB loss at 1004 Hz is 0.550 and the resistance Ohms is 63.084. dB loss for the individual copper cable sections are as follows: BEFORE 400' of BHAS-16 @ 28 KHz = 0.500 dB loss AFTER 415' of ANMW-25 @ 28 KHz = 0.721 dB loss. The change of +0.221 dB loss.

WORK BEGINS 6.3KF FROM CO BEFORE 1492 FEET BHAH-600 @ 28KHZ = 1.800 AFTER 1466 FEET ANAW-600 @ 28KHZ = 2.240 CHANGE OF +.44 DB LOSS 1/2 DB WILL NOT BE SERVICE AFFECTING.
