Standardization of 911 Trunk Group Options
First Implementation
Date: July 30, 2002
Original Date Posted: June 11, 2002 |
| Summary: |
Qwest announces the standardization of 911 trunk group options
in DMS100 911 Tandem Selective routers in the SS7 environment.
This will bring them into compliance with national standards
to receive 911 calls from all vendor switches. The incoming
911 trunk groups at the Selective router will look for the
ANI digits to selective route to the proper PSAP in the Charge
number field of the IAM message. This standardizes calls where
two sets of numbers can be sent to the selective routers,
as in Calling Party Number (CPN) versus Billing Directory
Number (BLDN), where PRI trunk groups are used at the end
offices. Also, wireless calls where the Pseudo Automatic Number
Identification (PANI) versus Mobile Directory Number (MDN).
