The message that your friend will receive: Dear Colorado Educator, As you know, technology can help make many classroom subjects more engaging and interactive, thereby building strength in math, science and other important areas. But too often, funds to bring innovative technology ideas to life in Colorado's classrooms are scarce. That's why the Qwest Foundation is offering teachers across Colorado the opportunity to share $200,000 in grant money for their technology-related programs. The Qwest Teachers and Technology grant program encourages Colorado K-12 teachers to improve student achievement through the integration of technology into their classrooms. Denver metro-area teachers and schools are eligible for $100,000 in grants. Teachers and schools outside the Denver metro area are eligible for an additional $100,000 in grants. The Qwest Teachers and Technology grants are awarded through a competitive process administered by the Public Education + Business Coalition (http://www.pebc.org). Eligible K-12 teachers must submit a completed grant application by March 10, 2009. Each application will be reviewed and evaluated by a blue-ribbon panel of education, business and civic leaders and winning applications will receive grant funds to put technology into the hands of their students.
