Oregon Special Highlights
A sample of our volunteer projects:
CAMPBELL'S LABELS FOR EDUCATION PROJECT: Several clubs and councils partner with local schools to collect, clip and donate labels to the schools so they can purchase classroom materials or equipment.
FOOD FOR LANE COUNTY: Pioneers in Eugene devote time every month to the Food For Lane County Project, which involves packaging, labeling and distributing food for people in need.
FAMILY KITCHEN COOK AND SERVE: Pioneers support a similar project in Bend that feeds disadvantaged citizens through volunteer time and donations.
AMPHITHEATER ACCESSIBILITY: In Bend, Pioneers are working with State Park representatives to upgrade and redesign the Cove Palisades State Park Amphitheater to accommodate differently-abled individuals. The Pioneers' involvement spans from drawing up the plans, providing the detailed work plans and assisting with labor.
CHRISTMAS IN APRIL: This is a nationwide effort to refurbish homes in metro areas for the elderly or differently-abled individuals. In many cases, this project brings homes up to city code so that the individual may continue to live in their home.
REST STOP SUPPORT: This is a weekend commitment to travelers along interstate highways at rest areas offering free coffee and refreshments and a safety break.
SAVE SOAPS AND LOTIONS FOR SALVATION ARMY:Pioneers save and collect the little hotel samples or whatever they can get for donation to the Salvation Army's efforts that are in need of supplies.
PIONEERING IN THE PINES: Pioneers enjoy this fellowship-based camp out full of fun and activities.
