The Salvation Army Thanks Corporate Donors For Their Support
Companies Give to Help at Colorado Wildfires
July 19, 2002 -- Denver, Colo. - Qwest Communications International Inc. is one of at least 50 companies that have given generously of funds and supplies recently to help The Salvation Army's response to the Colorado wildfires.
"Without the generous support of individuals and companies, The Salvation Army could not supply firefighters with the food, beverages and other necessities, nor could we assist the survivors in their unmet needs," said Divisional Commander Lt. Colonel Harold Brodin.
Together The Salvation Army and its community were able to provide thousands of meals and beverages to firefighters battling the Hayman Fire, the Missionary Ridge Fire, the Glenwood Springs fire, the Big Elk fire, and the fire in Idaho Springs. Also, The Salvation Army continues to provide financial assistance to families affected by the fires including the Iron Mountain Fire.
