John W. Richardson

John W. Richardson is chief financial officer of Qwest Communications International Inc., headquartered in Denver, Colo. Prior to his current role, Mr. Richardson was senior vice president, controller and chief accounting officer for Qwest with responsibility for external financial reporting, regulatory accounting, business unit financial functions, corporate financial planning and analysis, and the corporate tax group.

Prior to joining Qwest, Mr. Richardson was vice president—Finance of the North American tire division of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, headquartered in Akron, Ohio. During his 35-year career at Goodyear, he also served as the company’s chief accounting officer, as general auditor and was chairman and general manager of Goodyear’s operations in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Richardson, a non-practicing CPA in Ohio, serves on the board of directors of Ashworth Inc. A 1967 alumnus of Ohio University, he also serves on the advisory board of that institution’s School of Accountancy.

Mr. Richardson and his wife, Rose, have two children, Anne Marie and Jake.
